There are other reviews Here and on the internet, so I will skip the review of the vacuum itself other than to say that it is a heavy vacuum and requires more force than I had expected to push it.
As for buying a refurbished vacuum, it's almost like getting a new one. I was unable to find any signs of use (scratches,dirt etc..). The only differences I have found between a new and refurbished vacuum were the packaging, warranty and of course the huge cost savings! It came packaged in a plain brown box that kept the pieces well secured within the box. The only downside of buying refurbished is that it only comes with 6 month warranty. Time will tell if this is a major problem or not. I am concerned with the amount of plastic pieces on the vacuum but, isn't everything plastic these days?
If it came with the same amount of warranty as a new one I would have given it 5 stars. 6 months is a very short warranty for a product I intend to keep for years.
I "love" my Dyson. It has the best suction of any vacuum I have ever used. I have a DC-27 and the features are wonderful. No bending to change the floor selection from carpet to hardwood, its right on the handle. The hose is extra long for steps and the cord stretches farther than most vacs. The on board attachments are great and BTW it is really pretty in color - silver and burgundy red. The price was very reasonable for the quality. In my opinion, there is nothing better than a Dyson.
